Māori Women’s Development Inc (MWDI) is seeking a motivated and skilled individual to join our team as the MWDI Business Lending Manager.

The Business Lending Manager is responsible for managing the loan application process, including administration, assessment, and recommendations to the Kaiwhakahaere and Board of Trustees.

This role ensures efficient processing of applications while maintaining strong relationships with loan clients, and providing ongoing support throughout the loan lifecycle.

Additionally, the Business Lending Manager will work closely with the MWDI Corporate Accountant in financial tasks, ensuring accurate record-keeping, compliance with financial procedures, and effective loan portfolio management. Some travel is required (domestically in Aotearoa, NZ).

The successful candidate will work closely with MWDI clients, MWDI Corporate Accountant and the Kaiwhakahaere and other key stakeholders to ensure the smooth running of the MWDI Business Lending services. The MWDI Business Lending Manager reports directly to the MWDI Kaiwhakahaere.

This is a permanent full-time role based in Pōneke (Wellington) You will be required to work from Pōneke with flexible working arrangements if required.

The key successes in this role and ideal applicant would be able to:

Administer the MWDI loans portfolio.

Liaise and be the key contact for MWDI lending clients (travelling when necessary)

Conduct financial assessments and due diligence on loan applications.

Complete reporting on the performance of the lending portfolio.

Collection of loan repayments.

Assist the MWDI Kaiwhakahaere with other tasks as required.

The following experience is preferred:

• An accounting degree, experience or similar.

• Experience in both Anti Money Laundering (AML) and Privacy (training can be provided on the job).

•Excellent communication and client facing skills – essential.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills – essential.

• Solid organisational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills – essential.

• Te Reo me ōna tikanga – a distinct advantage.
