Hei Ō Ranga
Māori Women’s Development Inc set off on a journey to connect with Wharekura to explore the potential to support the development of a Wharekura enterprise programme.
The programme is conceptualised and constructed from a Mātauranga Māori perspective based on the experiences and feed-in of past and present wharekura tauira and kura kaupapa. Hei Ō Ranga is to be delivered in Te Reo Māori by young Māori facilitators, and supported by MWDI to help make the ideas that come of the programme – happen. This Kaupapa Maori programme will form the basis right across all programmes delivered by MWDI.
MWDI will pilot this programme in July 2020 with a cluster of wharekura in Tāmaki Makaurau focusing on 15 rangatahi for the first pilot programme and continue to deliver this programme across Aotearoa with wharekura.
MWDI Te Kora
MWDI Te Kora is an interactive and practical learning program where rangatahi are able to explore what it takes to bring an idea to life. During the programme, rangatahi learn about techniques, terms, and tools within Te Ao Pakihi. Te Kora helps to draw on personal attributes that can be used as an advantage and is an introduction to the business model canvas.
